Nose Surgery

If you look in the mirror and are dissatisfied with your profile, you could be a candidate for nose surgery also known as rhinoplasty. Nose surgery patients visit Dr. Wendel for aesthetic and medical reasons; many feel their nose is too large, are uncomfortable about a bump on the bridge of their nose or dislike the tip of their nose, while some experience breathing difficulties due to structural problems with their nose.

Incision Options

During your consultation with Dr. Wendel, you will be asked to discuss and decide on what nose reshaping incision is best for your procedure. The first option is called the open incision. The open incision is done by making a small incision under the space between the nostrils. This option provides Dr. Wendel with a better view of the inside of the nose. This option is typically best for reshaping a nose requiring more correction. The second option is called a closed incision, which leaves you visibly scarless. Dr. Wendel performs your nose reshaping through incisions made inside the nose. This allows for faster healing and sometimes less swelling and bruising.

Rhinoplasty Surgery

Whether you are receiving a nose job, African American Rhinoplasty, Asian Rhinoplasty and Revision Rhinoplasty, Dr. Wendel will perform the nose reshaping using anesthesia in a fully accredited surgical facility in Nashville. Next, Dr. Wendel will enter the nose through one of the two procedures addressed in the paragraph above. Dr. Wendel will then separate the skin of the nose from the bone. This is done to allow Dr. Wendel to sculpt your nose to the desired shape. Once he has altered the bone and cartilage in the nose, he repositions the skin. Once complete, Dr. Wendel will go over nose reshaping recovery instructions in order to minimize any discomfort.
